In June 2024, John was excited to return to pastoral ministry as the Lead Pastor of a gifted team with Kingsway Baptist Church. He comes with a background of over 20 years of pastoral ministry experience in Toronto and Kentville, NS, followed by 10 years of training pastors and other Christian leaders at Acadia Divinity College. John has a Bachelor of Arts Honours and a Master of Public Administration from Queen's University; a Master of Divinity from Wycliffe College; and a Doctor of Ministry from Acadia Divinity College. He also trained as a spiritual director, canoe instructor, and youth soccer coach. John is married to Catherine and they enjoy their 3 adult children and 2 grandchildren. In his rhythms for renewal, he enjoys God’s creation, walking, hiking, canoeing, other outdoor activities, spiritual practices, and watching playoff sports. With his birth and early years in India, John has an appreciation of diversity, spicy curry, and God’s global mission. Growing up as a missionary kid and pastor’s kid, John had many Christian influences. He came to faith at an early age, but he struggled with faith during some of his teenage years. Through those struggles and the Spirit’s strength, John accepted the reality of Jesus’ death and resurrection and recommitted his life to Jesus.
